The sky is something like our all natural roof: phenomenologically, it is what we see always "above" or on top of everything.

The English term "heaven" is more poetic. Often, it is used for the metaphorical sort of the "sky" where the god(s) reside but in principle, the term can also refer to the normal sky with a more poetic note.
