Modern Description
written by Susanne M Hoffmann
Frost is defined as temperatures below zero degrees Celsius when water freezes.
This causes several effects like a) dew freezes and builds little ice crystals on surfaces, b) rain falls in frozen form, c) after longer periods of frost, lakes and other open waters get covered with ice, and the longer frost lasts the more of the waters (even naturally fluent waters like rivers or falls) get frozen.
